(2-Morpholin-4-ylethyl)(5-nitro-1-benzofuran-7-yl)amine (450 mg, 1.545 mmol; Intermediate 27) was dissolved in THF (5 mL). After addition of ethanol (100 mL), Raney-nickel (cat.) and hydrazine hydrate (2 mL), the mixture was left stirring at room temperature for 2 h. The product was used directly in the subsequent reaction after filtration through Celite and evaporation of solvent.
