To a solution of 3-hydroxy-6-methyl-pyridine-2-carbaldehyde (0.27 g, 1.95 mmol) in dimethylformamide (4 mL) was added 2-chloro-1-[4-(4-fluoro-benzyl)-(2R,5S)-2,5-dimethyl-piperazin-1-yl]-ethanone (0.53 g, 1.77 mmol), potassium carbonate (0.49 g, 3.5 mmol) and potassium iodide (0.29 g, 1.8 mmol). The resulting mixture was stirred at 60° C. overnight, then diluted with EtOAc, washed with brine and the organic layer was dried over magnesium sulfate. Filtration followed by concentration in vacuo gave the title compound (0.85 g)
