Procedure
A mixture of {2-[5-{[6-(methoxymethyl)pyridin-3-yl]oxy}-7-(1-methylethoxy)-1H-indol-2-yl]-4,5-dihydro-1,3-thiazol-5-yl}acetic acid (300 mg), 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide hydrochloride (190 mg), 1-hydroxybenzotriazole (130 mg), methylamine hydrochloride (90 mg), triethylamine (150 mg) and N,N-dimethylformamide (5 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 13 h. Water was added to the mixture and the resultant was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed successively with saturated aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate solution and brine, dried (MgSO4), filtered, and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by silica gel chromatography (ethyl acetate:methanol=100:0 to 95:5, volume ratio) to give the title compound (210 mg, 68%) as a yellow amorphous solid. MS 469 (MH+).
