tert-Butyl 3,8-diazabicyclo[3.2.1]octane-3-carboxylate (454 mg, 2.36 mmol) and 2-bromo-3-chloropyridine (418 mg, 1.97 mmol) were combined in dry N,N-dimethylformamide (10 mL) and treated with potassium carbonate (408 mg, 2.95 mmol). After stirring at 120° C. for 48 hours, the mixture was allowed to cool to room temperature, diluted with ethyl acetate, filtered, and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by chromatography on silica gel (4:1, hexanes:ethyl acetate) to provide the title compound.
