PROCEDURE

A solution of 2-(3-cyano-4-methanesulfonyl-phenyl)-3-cyclopentyl-propionic acid (prepared as in Example 26, 100 mg, 0.311 mmol), triethylamine (0.13 mL, 0.933 mmol), benzotriazol-1-yloxy-tris(dimethylamino)phosphonium hexafluorophosphate (206 mg, 0.467 mmol), and 2-aminobenzoxazole (63 mg, 0.467 mmol) in methylene chloride (3 mL) was stirred at 25° C. for 3 h. The reaction mixture was then diluted with water (40 mL), a 1N aqueous hydrochloric acid solution (5 mL), and ethyl acetate (40 mL). The layers were separated, and the organic layer was dried over magnesium sulfate, filtered, and concentrated in vacuo. Biotage chromatography (FLASH 40S, Silica, 1/1 hexanes/ethyl acetate) afforded N-benzooxazol-2-yl-2-(3-cyano-4-methanesulfonyl-phenyl)-3-cyclopentyl-propionamide (75 mg, 55%) as a yellow foam: mp 108-112° C.; EI-HRMS m/e calcd for C23H23N3O4S (M+) 437.1409, found 437.1409.
