Compound 5 was prepared also via Pd-catalyzed phosphination of 1H-inden-2-yl trifluoromethanesulfonate. Following the procedure described for the synthesis of 3 from Ph2PH, 6.60 g (0.025 mol) of 1H-inden-2-yl trifluoromethanesulfonate, 4.98 g (0.025 mol) of Cy2PH, 3.9 ml (2.82 g, 0.027 mol) of Et3N, and 0.72 g (0.62 mmol) of Pd(PPh3)4 in 50 ml of toluene gave dicyclohexyl(1H-inden-2-yl)phosphine, 5.
