300 mg of 4-dimethylaminopyridine, 10 ml of triethylamine and 9.7 g of 3-nitrobenzenesulfonyl chloride were added to a solution of 10.0 g of 2-benzyl-3-iodo-6-[(3S,4S)-3-hydroxy-4-methoxypyrrolidine-1-yl]pyridine obtained in the same manner as in Example 10-c in 150 ml of ethyl acetate, followed by stirring at room temperature for 3 days. The reaction solution was first filtered through 50 g of silica gel, and washed with ethyl acetate. Further, the filtrate was filtered through 50 g of NH-silica gel and washed with ethyl acetate. The filtrate was concentrated, to give 14.6 g of the target compound.
