A solution of methyl 1-[4-(2-nitrobenzenesulfonyl)-piperazin-1-yl]-cyclopropanecarboxylate (0.60 g, 1.63 mmol) from Example 16C in anhydrous dimethylformamide (5 mL) was treated with potassium carbonate (0.67 g, 4.88 mmol) and thiophenol (0.21 g, 1.95 mmol) and stirred one hour at room temperature. This reaction mixture was then treated with 2-bromo-5-trifluoromethyl pyridine (0.44 g, 1.95 mmol) and heated overnight at 80° C. Reaction diluted with ethyl acetate, washed with water and brine, dried over Na2SO4, filtered, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by normal phase HPLC on a Biotage pre-packed silica gel column eluting with 9:1 hexane:ethyl acetate to afford the title compound. MS(ESI) m/z 330 (M+H)+.
