To a solution of methyl [(6R)-6-(3,5-difluorophenyl)-3,3-diethyl-2-oxopiperazin-1-yl]acetate from Step C (43 mg, 0.126 mmol) in THF (0.75 mL) and H2O (0.25 mL) was added 1 N aqueous LiOH (0.139 mL, 0.139 mmol) and the resulting mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 1 h. The mixture was adjusted to pH 4 by addition of 1 N HCl and concentrated to dryness in vacuo to give the title compound. MS: m/z=327 (M+1).
