Procedure

Add L-(+)-tartaric acid (49 mg, 0.33 mmol) and methanol to a solution of (N-(2-(7-fluoro-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl)-3-(2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropoxy)benzylamine (130 mg, 0.33 mmol) in ethyl acetate. Evaporate the solvent to give a gum. Crystallize the gum from diethyl ether/ethyl acetate to give the title compound: mp 192–194° C.
