Methyl isothiocyanate (0.788 g) was added to a solution of 6-(4-aminophenyl)-5-methyl-4,5-dihydro-1,2,4-triazin-3(2H)-one (2 g) in N,N-dimethylformamide (20 ml) and the mixture was stirred for 4 hours at 110° C. After cooling, the mixture was treated with activated charcoal and evaporated in vacuo. The residual solid was washed with water and dried to give 6-[4-(3-methylthioureido)phenyl]-5-methyl-4,5-dihydro-1,2,4-triazin-3(2H)-one (2.7 g).
