Procedure

To a solution of dihydrochloride salt of (1R,5S)-(4-morpholin-4-yl-phenyl)-3-aza-bicyclo[3.1.0]hexane (5.0 g, 17.8 mmol) in DMF (20 mL) were added DIPEA (12.7 mL, 71.3 mmol) and ethyl iodide (2.14 mL, 26.7 mmol) at r.t. and progress of the reaction was monitored by TLC. On completion, the reaction mixture was diluted with water (10 mL) and extracted with ethyl acetate (3×20 mL). The organic layer was washed with brine (2×10 mL), dried over anhydrous sodium sulphate and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by column chromatography (silica gel, 0.2:9.8 MeOH:CHCl3) to provide the title compound as viscous liquid (2.3 g, 47%).
