Procedure

A solution of 2-phenyl-1λ6,2,7-thiadiazepane-1,1-dione (500 mg, 2.21 mmol) and NaH (214 mg, 6.63 mmol) in DMF (15 mL) was stirred at 0° C. for 10 minutes. To the solution was added a solution of 4-bromo-1-(bromomethyl)-2-fluorobenzene (881 mg, 3.32 mmol) in DMF (5 mL) and stirred at room temperature for 3 hours. The reaction mixture was diluted with EtOAc and water, extracted with ethyl acetate, dried over Na2SO4, filtered, and concentrated under reduced pressure to afford 2-[(4-bromo-2-fluorophenyl)methyl]-7-phenyl-1λ6,2,7-thiadiazepane-1,1-dione as a yellow oil (548 mg, 60%). LCMS (ESI): m/z=413.0 [M+H]+.
