Procedure
A mixture of tert-butyl 8-bromo-2,3-dihydrothieno[2,3-f][1,4]oxazepine-4(5H)-carboxylate (16.0 g) obtained in Example 1, steps 1-3, cyclopropylboronic acid (8.23 g), potassium tert-butoxide (12.5 g), tricyclohexylphosphine (1.88 g), palladium acetate (754 mg) and toluene (400 mL) was stirred at 100° C. for 8 hr, the reaction mixture was poured into water, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (solvent gradient; 0→10% ethyl acetate/hexane) to give the title compound (10.6 g, 75.1%) as an oil.
