Procedure
To a suspension of sodium hydride (97.9 mg, 60% in oil) in tetrahydrofuran (10 mL) were added a solution of tert-butyl {[5-(2-fluoropyridin-3-yl)-1H-pyrrol-3-yl]methyl}methylcarbamate (311 mg) in tetrahydrofuran (3 mL), 15-crown-5 (449 mg), and thiophene-3-sulfonyl chloride (280 mg) under ice-cooling. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 30 min, water was added to the reaction mixture, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was washed with saturated brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (eluent: hexane-ethyl acetate=6:1→3:1) to give the title compound as a pale-yellow oil (yield 433 mg, 94%).
