Procedure
To a suspension of sodium hydride (60% in oil, 60 mg) in tetrahydrofuran (5 mL) was added a solution of tert-butyl {[4-fluoro-5-(2-fluoropyridin-3-yl)-1H-pyrrol-3-yl]methyl}methylcarbamate (323 mg) in tetrahydrofuran (5 mL) at 0° C., 15-crown-5 (330 mg) and 3-fluorobenzenesulfonyl chloride (292 mg) were added at the same temperature. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 30 min, water was added and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was washed with saturated brine, dried over anhydrous is sodium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (eluent: hexane-ethyl acetate=7:1→3:1) to give the title compound as a colorless oil (yield 527 mg, quantitative).
