To a suspension of NaH (0.39 g, 9.3 mmol) in DMF (15 mL) was added a solution of 3 (1.9 g, 6.5 mmol) in DMF (10 mL) at 0° C. under nitrogen. The reaction was stirred for 1.5 hour, and then (2-bromoethoxy)-tert-butyldimethylsilane (2.09 mL, 9.7 mmol) was added. The reaction mixture was stirred overnight, diluted with EtOAc, quenched with aqueous ammonium chloride solution, and extracted with EtOAc (3×50 mL). The organic layers were combined and dried over Na2SO4. Purification with biotage (EtOAc) gave the product 4 (1.2 g, 41%) as light yellow solid.
