A solution of the product from Example 17, Step B (0.32 g, 0.85 mmol) in THF (10 mL) containing triethylamine (3.39 mmol, 0.47 mL) was cooled (ice bath) and N-acetylsulfanilyl chloride (0.20 g, 0.85 mmol) was added followed by stirring for one hour. The reaction mixture was warmed to room temperature, water (1 mL) was added, and stirring continued until all the solids dissolved. Saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate (150 mL) was added and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate (2×100 mL). The combined extracts were washed with brine (100 mL), dried (MgSO4) and evaporated to a residue which was purified by chromatography (silica gel, hexane/ethyl acetate gradient) to give an amorphous solid (0.32 g, 66%): LC/MS m/z 576 [M+H]+.
