A stirred solution of 8-benzyloxy-5-[(R)-2-bromo-1-(tert-butyldimethyl-silanyloxy)ethyl]-1H-quinolin-2-one (3.14 g, 6.43 mmol); {2-[3-((R)-2-aminopropyl)-phenyl]ethyl}carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (1.79 g, 6.43 mmol) and triethylamine (1.08 mL, 7.72 mmol) in DMF (21.0 mL) was microwaved (300 watts) at 80° C. for 15 h. Saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate (10 mL) was added and the resulting mixture was extracted with DCM (2×10 mL). The combined organic layers were dried over sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel chromatography (0-5% MeOH in DCM) to give the title compound (2.8 g, 63% yield) as an off-white solid.
