Procedure
To a solution of 5-Chloro-2-nitroanisole (0.5 g, 2.67 mmol) in 5 mL of DMF was added dimethylphosphine oxide (0.229 g, 2.93 mmol), palladium acetate (30 mg, 0.13 mmol), XANTPHOS (0.092 g, 0.16 mmol) and potassium phosphate (0.623 g, 2.93 mmol). The mixture was purged with argon, and heated at 120° C. for 1811. The reaction mixture was basified with saturated sodium bicarbonate solution, and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was concentrated and purified by prep-HPLC to give the final product (0.16 g, 30% yield). MS/ES+: m/z=229.
