4.6 g of 3-[2-(tert-butyl-dimethyl-silanyloxy)-ethyl]-phenylboronic acid, 130 mg of nickel iodide, 5.0 g of sodium bis(trimethylsilyl)amide and 62 mg of (1R,2R)-2-aminocyclohexanol were placed in a microwave vial and 3.5 ml of isopropanol were added. The mixture was stirred for 10 min at room temperature. Then a solution of 3-iodooxetane in 1.5 ml of isopropanol was added and the mixture treated under microwave irradiation at 80° C. for 30 min. The obtained mixture was combined with the mixtures obtained in three further runs of the synthesis, poured into 50 ml of a saturated aqueous sodium hydrogencarbonate solution and extracted three time with 50 ml each of EA. The combined organic layers were dried with magnesium sulfate and evaporated to yield 9.0 g of the title compound.
