Procedure
To 1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylic acid (32.7 mg, 0.289 mmol) in DMF (2 ml) was added HATU (110 mg, 0.289 mmol) and DIPEA (0.050 ml, 0.289 mmol). The resulting yellow solution was stirred for 10 mins and treated with 3,5-dichlorobenzyl 4-(3-amino propyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate (step 2) (100 mg, 0.289 mmol). After stirring at ambient temperature for 4 hrs, the mixture was diluted with EtOAc (50 ml) and washed with water (2×10 ml). The organic extracts were dried (MgSO4) and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was dissolved in DCM and applied to a 20 g silica cartridge eluting with 10% MeOH/DCM containing 1% aqueous 880 ammonia. The product fractions were concentrated to give 3,5-dichlorobenzyl 4-(3-(1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxamido)propyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate as a white foam;
