To a mixture of [2-(5-tert-butyl-4-chloro-2-methyl-2H-pyrazol-3-yl)-6-(2-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-3H-imidazo[4,5-c]pyridin-4-yloxy]-acetaldehyde (40.0 mg, 0.0813 mmol, prepared as described in Example 12, STEP A) in 30:1 MeOH/AcOH (2 mL) was added 2.0 M dimethyl amine in THF (81.3 μL, 0.163 mmol) followed by sodium cyanoborohydride (10.2 mg, 0.163 mmol). After stirring at room temperature for 18 h, the resulting mixture was treated with EtOAc (50 mL) and washed with saturated aqueous NH4Cl (20 mL), H2O (20 mL) and brine (20 mL). The organic layer was dried with Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuo. The resulting residue was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel (0:100-10:90 MeOH/DCM) to yield {2-[2-(5-tert-Butyl-4-chloro-2-methyl-2H-pyrazol-3-yl)-6-(2-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-3H-imidazo[4,5-c]pyridin-4-yloxy]-ethyl}-dimethyl-amine as a light yellow solid. 1H-NMR (400 MHz, CD3OD) δ: 7.84 (d, J=7.6 Hz, 1H), 7.67-7.75 (m, 1H), 7.58-7.66 (m, 2H), 7.37-7.43 (m, 1H), 4.80-4.86 (m, 2H), 4.03 (s, 3H), 3.47-3.55 (m, 2H), 2.88 (s, 6H), 1.45 (s, 9H). Mass Spectrum (LCMS, ESI pos.) Calculated For C25H28ClF3N6O: 521.2 (M+H). Measured: 521.2.
