Procedure
The polysaccharide of the present invention deacetylated by a dilute alkali (0.01M KOH) treatment was subjected to acid hydrolysis using 2M trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) at 100° C. for 6 hours and then derived to alditol acetate. Each of the obtained derivatives was analyzed by gas chromatography using ECNSS-Mcoated column "Gaschrom Q" (mfd. by Wako Pure Chemical Co., Ltd.). Consequently, there were detected the same compounds to that obtained from D-galactose and D-glucose as starting materials.
