Potassium cyanide (0.53 g) was added to a solution of the product from step (vi) (0.99 g) in DMSO (10 mL) and DMF (10 mL) under nitrogen. The resulting mixture was stirred at rt for 20 h and diluted with saturated aqueous NaHCO3 (50 mL). The mixture was extracted with EtOAc and the combined organic phase was washed with water and brine, dried, filtered and evaporated. The crude product was purified by chromatography, eluting with 5% MeOH in DCM to afford the subtitle compound as an orange solid 0.6 g.
