Procedure
A solution of 4-chloro-1-(cyclopropylmethyl)-5-ethynyl-1H-benzotriazole (20 mg, 0.086 mmol), 3-bromo-4-methylpyridine (30 mg, 0.17 mmol), copper (I) iodide (5 mg, 0.026 mmol), and triethylamine (156 μL, 1.12 mmol) in DMF (0.54 mL) was sparged under nitrogen and heated at 90° C. for 18 hours. The mixture was treated with Quadrapure TU, stirred for 18 hours and filtered. The filtrated was concentrated in vacuo and the residue was purified by preparative reverse-phase HPLC, providing the titled compound: 1H-NMR (500 MHz, d6-DMSO) δ 8.78 (s, 1H), 8.53 (s, 1H), 8.05 (d, J=8.6 Hz, 1H), 7.85 (d, J=8.6 Hz, 1H), 7.44 (s, 1H), 4.67 (d, J=7.3 Hz, 2H), 2.56 (s, 3H), 1.40 (m, 1H), 0.58 (d, J=7.7 Hz, 2H), 0.50 (d, J=5.0 Hz, 2H) ppm; high resolution mass spectrometry (ES+) m/z 323.1058 [(M+H)+; calculated for C18H16ClN4: 323.1058].
