Procedure

To a mixture of 9-{[4-(1-methylethyl)phenyl]sulfanyl}-3,4-dihydropyrido[2,1-c][1,2,4]thiadiazine 2,2-dioxide (137.4 mg) in dehydrated DMF (3 mL) was added a mixture of 3-chloroperbenzoic acid (75%, 99 mg) in dehydrated DMF (3 mL) under ice-cooling, and the mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. To the reaction mixture was added saturated aqueous sodium sulfite solution, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with saturated aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate solution and saturated brine, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate/methanol) to give the title compound (67.6 mg) as a white solid.
