1,8-Diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (0.16 mL, 1.07 mmol) was added to a stirred suspension of (5,8-Dimethyl-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyrazin-2-ylmethyl)-triphenyl-phosphonium; chloride (0.490 g, 1.07 mmol) and 2-Methyl-5-phenyl-2H-1,2,4-triazole-3-carbaldehyde (0.200 g, 1.07 mmol) in Tetrahydrofuran (6.9 mL) in dry THF (8 mL) and the mixture was stirred at room temperature under an atmosphere of Argon overnight. DCM (50 ml) was added and the organic phase was extracted with water (2×50 ml), dried (MgSO4) and the solvent was evaporated off.
