To a solution of INT 15 (158 mg, 0.39 mmol) in THF (3.9 mL) at 0° C. was added LiOH (1.0 M in H2O, 1.97 mL, 1.97 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 5 hours. The mixture was acidified with 1 M HCl and concentrated. The residue was taken up in CH2Cl2/EtOAc and washed with brine. The aqueous layer was extracted with CH2Cl2/EtOAc (3×). The combined organic layers were dried over MgSO4 and concentrated. The residue was purified by preparative HPLC (H2O/CH3CN) to afford the title compound Example 8.
