Procedure
This compound was prepared according to the procedure of Example 25. A mixture of 1.6 g (0.01 mole) of 1-(2-pyridyl)piperazine, 2.5 g (0.01 mole) of 4-chloro-1-(4-chloro-3-methylphenoxy)-2-butanol, 5.2 g (0.05 mole) of anhydrous sodium carbonate and 0.1 g of potassium iodide in a total volume of 200 ml of 1-butanol gave a golden oil as residue. The hydrochloride was formed in 2-propanol saturated with hydrogen chloride and the collected solid was recrystallized from methanol-water-ethyl ether to give 2.9 g (65%) of white solid, m.p. >250° C.
