A solution of hydroxy-di-thiophen-2-yl-acetic acid (1S,2R,4S,7S)-7-{[9-(tert-butyl-dimethyl-silanyloxy)-nonyl]-methyl-amino}-bicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-yl ester (0.51 g, 0.82 mmol) in THF (7 mL) was treated with 1 M HCl (3.5 mL) and stirred at RT for 45 min. The reaction mixture was neutralised with satd NaHCO3 (aq) and extracted with ethyl acetate. The combined organic layers were dried (Na2SO4), filtered, and concentrated to dryness to afford a light brown oil, which was used without further purification.
