To a suspension of 14-1 (2.1 g, 4.9 mMol) in THF (50 mL) was added 1N HCl (50 mL). After stirring at room temperature for 30 minutes, the reaction was diluted with ethyl acetate and washed twice with water, followed by brine. The organic layer was dried with MgSO4 and Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated in vacuo to yield 14-2 as a red solid. Mass (M+1) calculated: 381.1346 observed: 381.1346.
