4-Formyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)-N-[(trimethylsilyl)methyl]benzamide (15.0 g, 49.4 mmol), Hydroxylamine hydrochloride (6.9 g, 98.8 mmol) and sodium acetate (6.1 g, 74.1 mmol) in EtOH and H2O were stirred at room temperature over night. The reaction mixture was diluted with t-BuOMe, and washed with brine and dried over MgSO4. After evaporation the product was found to be 15.0 g (95%).
