3-[1-(4-Chloro-benzyl)-5-(pyridin-2-ylmethoxy)-1H-pyrrolo[3,2-b]pyridin-2-yl]-2,2-dimethyl-propionic acid ethyl ester (0.024 g, 0.05 mmol) was dissolved in THF (0.1 mL), MeOH (0.1 mL), and H2O (0.1 mL). LiOH (0.008 g, 0.20 mmol) was added and the reaction was heated to 60° C. for 2 hours. Once no starting material was seen by LCMS, the reaction was cooled to room temperature and diluted with EtOAc and water. The mixture was neutralized with solid citric acid to ˜pH 5, the aqueous layer was extracted three times with EtOAc, the combined organics were washed twice with water, once with brine, dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated to give the desired acid. LCMS (ESI) M+H 450.
