To a solution of 1-(5-Chloro-1,2,3-trimethyl-1H-indol-7-ylmethyl)-5-methyl-1,3-dihydro-benzimidazol-2-one (40 mg, 0.11 mmol) in DMA (2 mL) were added Methyl 2-pentenoate (26 mg, 0.23 mmol) and K2CO3 (31 mg, 0.23 mmol). The reaction mixture was heated to 120° C. for 20 min in a microwave. When the reaction was completed, the reaction mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate and washed with water (×4). The organic phase was dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated. The resulting residue was purified by silica gel prep TLC using 4:1 Hexane:ethyl acetate to afford 40 mg of the desired product. LCMS (ESMS): m/z 468.36 (M+H+).
