To a stirred solution of (S)-3,5-dichloro-4-(2-(3-(cyclopropylmethoxy)-4-(difluoromethoxy)phenyl)-2-(4-nitrobenzylcarbamoyloxy)ethyl)pyridine 1-oxide (200 mg, 0.334 mmol) in THF (10 ml), SnCl2 dihydrate (603 mg, 2.67 mmol) was added, and the mixture was stirred at 60° C. for 5 hours, then the mixture was diluted with NaHCO3 sat (pH=7) followed by the addition of EtOAc and filtered trough a celite pad. The inorganic phase was extracted with EtOAc. The combined organic layers were rinsed with brine, dried over Na2SO4 and evaporated affording the desired product (190 mg, 0.334 mmol, 100% yield, MS/ESI+ 568.3 [MH]+).
