Procedure
To a stirred solution of the product obtained in Step E (0.46 g, 1.8 mmol) and triethylamine (250 μL, 1.8 mmol) in anhydrous tetrahydrofuran (THF, 15 mL) cooled to 0° C. was added dropwise a solution of cyclopropanecarbonyl chloride (160 μL, 1.8 mmol) in THF (5 mL). The mixture was stirred at 0° C. for 30 min and then at room temperature overnight. The reaction mixture was filtered and the solids were washed with ethyl acetate. The filtrate was evaporated to dryness and the residue purified by recrystallization from hexane to yield 0.41 g (71% yield) of the title compound as a white solid melting at 155°-156° C. 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 11.75 (s,1H), 8.61-8.63 (m,1H), 7.76 (s, 1H), 7.55 (s,1H), 7.26-7.27 (m,1H), 2.37 (s,3H), 1.56-1.62 (m,2H), 1.07-1.13 (m,2H).
