Procedure
5-(2-Fluorophenyl)-1-(pyridin-3-ylsulfonyl)-1H-pyrrole-3-carbaldehyde (330 mg) was dissolved in N,N-dimethylformamide (30 mL), N-bromosuccinimide (356 mg) was added and the mixture was stirred at 80° C. for 2 hr. The reaction mixture was allowed to cool, a saturated aqueous sodium hydrogencarbonate solution was added, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate.
