Procedure

4-Aminophenol was reacted with 4-methoxy-2-chloropyridine in the presence of KOtBu/8-Crown-6/DMA at 150° C. for 5 hrs to give 2-(4-aminophenoxy)-4-methoxypyridine. The product was purified by chromatography.
