A room temperature solution of Example 54A (80 mg, 3.0 mmol) and LiOH (630 mg, 15.0 mmol) in a mixture of THF (15 mL), water (4 mL), and methanol (4 mL) was stirred for 1 hour, poured into 1M HCl, and extracted with ethyl acetate. The combined extracts were washed with brine, dried (Na2SO4), filtered, and concentrated to provide the desired product of sufficient purity for subsequent use.
