A suspension of 7-hydroxy-6-methoxy-4-(2-methylindol-5-yloxy)quinazoline (321 mg, 1 mmol), (prepared as described in Example 49), 1-bromo-3-chloropropane (120 μl, 1.2 mmol) and potassium carbonate (359 mg, 2.6 mmol) in DMF (5 ml) was stirred at ambient temperature overnight. After addition of water, the precipitate was collected by filtration, washed with water and dried over phosphorus pentoxide at 60° C. to give 7-(3-chloropropoxy)-6-methoxy-4-(2-methylindol-5-yloxy)quinazoline (280 mg, 70%).
