To a solution of cyclopropanecarboxylic acid (129 mg, 1.50 mmol) in dichloromethane (5 mL) were added oxalyl chloride (190 mg, 1.50 mmol) and N,N-dimethylformamide (40 μL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hr. The reaction mixture was added to a solution (10 mL) of 5-chloro[1,3]thiazolo[5,4-b]pyridine-2-amine (185 mg, 1.00 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran at 0° C., and the mixture was stirred for 2 hr. To the reaction mixture was added water (10 mL), and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate (30 mL×3). The organic layer was concentrated under reduced pressure to give N-(5-chloro[1,3]thiazolo[5,4-b]pyridin-2-yl)cyclopropanecarboxamide.
