To a solution of 9H-fluoren-9-ylmethyl(2,4-dimethyl-5-{[(pyridin-3-ylmethyl)amino]sulfonyl}phenyl)carbamate (1.2 g, 2.3 mmol) in DMA (4.5 mL) was added piperidine (0.8 mL, 7.9 mmol). The reaction stirred at room temperature for one hour and was then poured into a separatory funnel containing water and EtOAc. The reaction was extracted with EtOAc and the organic extracts were dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuo.
