To a solution of 3-bromo-8-chloro-imidazo[1,2-a]pyrazine (2 g, 8.6 mmol) in iBuOH (5 ml) is added 4-aminomethyl-benzenesulfonamide hydrochloride (2.1 g, 9.5 mmol) and DIPEA (3.7 ml, 21.5 mmol). The reaction is heated to 108° C. and stirred for 16 h. After this time the solution is allowed to cool, resulting in a thick white precipitate. The precipitate is filtered and washed with diethyl ether to give 4-[(3-Bromo-imidazo[1,2-a]pyrazin-8-ylamino)-methyl]-benzenesulfonamide as a white solid (1.24 g, 38%)
