Procedure
A mixture of compound 66.1 (2 mmol) and LiOH.H2O (4 mmol) in THF (20 mL) and H2O (5 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours and then neutralized with 1.0 N HCl (4 mL). The reaction was concentrated to dryness to give 4-(2-{2-[3-(3-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-ureido]-thiazol-5-yl}-ethylamino)-thieno[3,2-d]pyrimidine-6-carboxylic acid (compound 66.2) which is used without further purification in the next step.
