To a solution of 400 mg 3-[2-(2,4-Dichloro-phenyl)-acetylamino]-4-methoxy-benzoic acid methyl ester in 5 ml MeOH/H2O 2:1 56 mg lithium hydroxide monohydrate were added and the mixture was stirred over night. The suspension was diluted with 5 ml concentrated HCl to precipitate the acid. After filtration the filter cake was washed twice with water and then dried to yield the acid as a white powder.
