To a solution of (RS)-(1-benzenesulfonyl-aziridin-2-yl)-[4-(2,5-dimethyl-phenyl)-piperazin-1-yl]-methanone (0.084 g) in tetrahydrofuran (2 ml) were added sodium iodide (0.035 g) and phenylisocyanate (0.038 g). The mixture was stirred for 3 h at room temperature. The mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate and washed with water, 1% aqueous Na2S2O3 solution and again with water. The organic phase was dried, filtered and evaporated. The product was purified by chromatography (SiO2, cyclohexane/ethyl acetate 4:1=>1:1) to give (RS)-1-benzenesulfonyl-4-[4-(2,5-dimethyl-phenyl)-piperazine-1-carbonyl]-3-phenyl-imidazolidin-2-one (0.071 g) as a colorless solid. MS: 519.3 ([M+H]+)
