Procedure
A solution of 2-chloro-3-iodo-6-(trifluoromethyl)pyridine (Tet. Lett., 1998, 39(13), 1749-1752) (350 mg, 1.14 mmol), piperidine (135 μl, 1.37 mmol) and Et3N (640 μl, 4.56 mmol) in i-PrOH (2 mL) was heated for 1 h at 140° C. in a microwave reactor. The reaction mixture was concentrated to dryness and the crude was purified through flash chromatography (SiO2, heptane) to afford 237 mg (58%) of the title compound.
