Procedure

A mixture of 2-(5-{1-[4-(cyclopropylsulfonyl)phenyl]-2-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)ethyl}-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)-4-(2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl)-1,3-thiazole (0.19 g), 1M hydrochloric acid (4 mL) and tetrahydrofuran (6 mL) was stirred at 50° C. for 2 hr. To the reaction mixture was added saturated aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The ethyl acetate layer was m washed with saturated brine, dried (MgSO4) and concentrated to give the title compound (1.83 g, yield 73%) as a colorless amorphous solid. MS: 503 (MH+).
