Procedure
A mixture containing 4-bromo-1,8-dichloro[1]benzothieno[3,2-c]pyridine-4-methoxybenzylamine (5 equiv), K2CO3 (4.0 equiv) in DMF (0.2 M) was placed in a microwave reactor at 200° C. for 3.3 min. The reaction was diluted with EtOAc and ether and washed with H2O. The organic solvents were separated and evaporated. The desired product was purified by flash chromatography (10% EtOAc in hexanes).
